This page contains scanned historical town road records.  Hard copies of these records are stored at the Monroe County Highway Department office at 803 Washington Street in Sparta. 

Instructions for using these records:

1. View the map in the town folder below to determine if a record exists for a particular road. 
2. If there is a record associated with a road there will be corresponding page number or numbers identified on the map.
3. The page number files are also found in the folders below and the corresponding record book pages are associated with a town road record pertaining to the establishment, alteration, or discontinuation of the road.

Please note many roads will have no associated record and in those cases the following state statute applies. §82.31

In some cases records may have been lost or destroyed. In those cases state statutes indicate that they can be restored.  §82.33
