Every 3 years, Monroe County Health Department works with local partners to complete a Community Health Assessment (CHA). This assessment uses health data and input from residents to understand health needs in Monroe County, which is then used to create a Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP). Utilizing the data collected from the CHA, we met with community stakeholders and members to identify top priorities for us to address as a community. The following health issues emerged as priorities for Monroe County based on the data review and community input. These three priorities will be the focus of educational, programmatic, and policy attention for 2023-2026:
- Mental Health
- Alcohol and Other Drug Use
- Safe and Affordable Housing
