Purpose of this program is to help individuals find a nonprofit location(s) to volunteer their time and give back to the community. Our program also provides verification of completed community service hours to the appropriate entity.
Examples:
- If approved by the Court, individuals may also perform community service at the rate of $15.00 per hour toward fines. Defendants shall not receive dual credit for fines and jail time for the same community service completed.
- If approved by the Court at sentencing, the defendant is entitled to one day of credit toward jail time for each full day (8 hours) of community service completed up to one-half of the jail time the defendant is required to serve. If approved, the Judgment of Conviction shall state that the defendant may perform community service toward jail time.
- Upfront condition as part of a negotiated deal with the District Attorney’s Office
- Order as part of a condition of Probation & Parole or Diversion program.
- Working of part of a Monroe County program fee at a credit of $15 per hour. Eligible programs: OWI Treatment Court, Drug Court, OWI 2nd, OWI 3rd, and OWI 4th program.
