Are you licensed to practice law in the state of Wisconsin and have an interest in the public sector? Monroe County’s Corporation Counsel Office is looking for a full-time Assistant Corporation Counsel to join their team! Successful candidates will have a degree from a recognized, certified school of law and be licensed to practice law in state of Wisconsin. One year in practice of law is preferred. Candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired may also be considered.
Our Assistant Corporation Counsel provides general legal counsel to the county and its departments. This position will demonstrate quality research and writing skills including work on appellate briefs. This position will assist in representing and advising multiple departments mainly in relation to Child in Need of Protection and Services (CHIPS) cases; termination of parental rights, guardianships, child support, vulnerable adults, mental health, and various county board matters.
